All sorts of things will produce bubbles in a fizzy drink, a very sedate one is to add some raisins (or similar sized dried fruit). In this case bubbles can be seen to form on the surface and grow. Eventually enough bubbles form to lift the raisin up to the surface by their buoyancy, here some pop and it drops back down again. Thus you get a very cheap lava-lamp type effect, although slightly less exciting than other fizzy drink experiments! Note – this experiment will look much better if the liquid is colourless, or at least transparent.
