Try this at home

The Mentos-Coke Fountain

Take a bottle of Coke (or any fizzy drink will do), drop in a whole packet of Mentos (a whole range of things such as sugar or salt will produce a similar, although perhaps less explosive, result) and stand back – well back! This experiment should be performed outside as it makes an absolutely incredible sticky mess!

TIP: Skewering your Mentos together is supposedly most effective, probably because they fall into the drink more rapidly, allowing as many bubbles to form in a short a time as possible.
