This job would suit:
Someone who has an interest in what goes wrong in diseases and someone who likes to discover new things...with the aim of helping people improve their quality of life. Can be frustrating when things don't work, but when they do, job satisfaction is second-to-none! Need self-motivation, good manual skills and a desire to learn new things and meet loads of different people.
Qualifications needed:
To get into medical research of any kind, generally what you will need are good science GCSEs and A-levels, followed by a degree in one aspect of medical science...could be Biomedical Science like I did...a bit of everything for those who aren't sure what are to specialise in, or more specific, like genetics, biochemistry, microbiology. All will teach you the skills you need to pursue research careers.
What's the financial reward?
"The pay's pretty good - but I get more than that out of it."
