31 October 2009 Manchester Science Festival

Just spent a day at Manchester Science Festival, demonstrating Kawasaki's Theorem. We made cranes - felt like I might be making good progress towards a thousand cranes. Then we opened one up to look at the angles and talk about the Theorem. Was a great activity for children and parents too. There are a lot more origami activities for exploring maths, and origami has cool and useful applications including satellites and crash safety...
